Second thoughts on RSS

31 01 2010

OK, so back in July I posted my praises of Google Reader and RSS technology.  Today however, I’m not so sure.  I’ve been without Internet for a couple of weeks, and look at my Google Reader:

Over 1000 stories for me to look at…I’m never going to have the time!

Yeah, I know the feeling. I get about 600 new items a day. A lot of the feeds I’m signed up to are only on the off chance that I see something interesting.. I tend to know where the worthwhile news is so I seek it out and ignore the rest. I use “Mark all as read” a lot.

That’s what the “Mark all as read” button is for! :P (You can also mark all items older than X days as read if you want to keep items a day or two old unread).
