I like the fact that in this time we live in, you can't get away from using local apps. So I guess Thunderbird can replace links for all the Google stuff meaning you can still have your local copy and only need to use the net for backup purposes... I still don't think it's a viable option for the serious computer user...I had no internet for six and a half hours on the train at the weekend...That could have been six and a half hours of 0 usability out of a laptop... Sounds cool.
